To start the day we moved some palms out of the garden. No more sharp palm leaves poking me when I walk past. They found a nice new place in the driveway.
I need to keep my driving going so we went everywhere today. One destination was Norwood.
I bought a few magazines. The model railroad magazine is from the UK and at the top is says "5 great layouts - UK & European". I feel a bit sad for the english to feel this way. Apart from that I find it really STUPID!
And also some new shirts.
Before Norwood we went to Bunnings where I bought a little lawnmower. This one requires muscle power (not much really) instead of fuel and it much LESS noisy.
Here's Nicole trying out the new lawnmower, she liked it a lot and instantly mowed half the garden :-)
In the evening I played World of Warcraft with my guild. It was fun. We went into a dungeon called "Karazhan" and encountered a few of these particularly sexy dressed but very deadly characters. Here we see one of our warriors, Chins, carefully chopping one up. Chop, chop :-)
This is the team that I played in last night. I'm the tree. Yesh, a tree!
Here's a close up showing three very different characters. I'm a druid and druids can shapeshift into other forms. In the picture before this one, you also see a huge owl-like character, that's also a druid. As I am a healer (I don't deal damage, instead I heal the players around me), I sometimes take on tree-form as it increases my healing abilities. In the middle we see two cute blood elves and on the right there is a troll which I personally find the ugliest characters around ;-)

The work lunch
When I look leftish out of my window I see a tall shiny building.
Today we went out for lunch. Apparently this is done monthly. We went to a place called "Amore", maybe because we love our work so much? Hmm, let's not get carried away. I enjoyed it a lot because it was a chance to get to know my colleagues a bit better. Apart from that the food wasn't bad either. Giant portions again though...
Pictured from left to right: Justin, Mark, Dale and Craig. Not in the picture are Ben, Buddy (you can just see his hands on the right) and Luke.
While waiting for Nicole I took a piccie of my office building.
And the building next to it.
WTF?

Window cleaning / Thai food
Dark clouds as I wait for my bus. I was very early today (7:30) and the bus was only 30% full so I could sit. Unfortunately I sat very close to someone with extreme BO but after inhaling deep a few times I was used to it, well, I could tolerate it. My clothes probably still smell like him. I'm sure it was a him. There were only hims sitting close to me...
During the morning I spotted this dude checking out the facade. He wasn't hard to spot. Suddenly there was this bright orange dot outside. Soon enough he'd be putting ropes in place.
Next thing you know he was on the ledge of the window, hooked up to the first rope though. If the ARBO dienst saw this they would send in the army I think.
And then the cleaning begun. The stupid thing was that he was cleaning the windows of a floor that has all the windows covered with paper on the inside...
I went to the food court again. Found another place that sells sub standard baguettes. I ate it sitting on a bench in front of a building. The mix of old and new buildings remains fascinating.
In this picture I was:
A) Thrilled with my baguette.
B) Concentrating while making the picture
C) --- post your reason in the comments ---
After work we went out for dinner. I got my first pay yesterday which called for celebration. We checked out a Thai place called "Basil & Lemongrass".
It turned out to be the best Thai we visited here so far.
Food: 8-, Service: 8.5, Hygiene: 8, Price: 7.5.

Doughnuts for Munchie
Walking out to meet Nicole for lunch. There are a lot of beautiful old buildings everywhere.
Looking down Grenfell street you can see the Adelaide hills in the distance.
Nicole waited for me at the foodcourt I discovered yesterday.
This is the coffee place in the centre.
Yesterday our friend Stephen told us about this doughnut place so naturally we had to check it out today.
We did some research and trust me, they don't just -look- good! ;-)

The food court
During lunch today I discovered a food court. You don't really see these in The NL. It's like an enclosed area with around 20 different places where you can get food ranging from greasy snack bar type stuff to super healthy salads etc. A lot of Asian food is available. Yuuuuumm.
I got some Thai beef action for $7, very nice!
On the way back there was more fire truck action going on. Luckily tax payers money was only wasted on a false alarm...

Monday
During my lunch I walked (300 metres max.) down to a baguette place.
Their baguette was nice but they didn't put a whole lot on it. I asked for ham and cheese (naturally) and there were 3 slices of cheese and 3 slices of ham which is nothing on a baguette of 40cm length...
Old in the way of new...
While walking to my bus stop there was some fire truck action. In total 5 trucks raced down the streets.
When I came home, Nicole had prepared a perfect dinner for us: potatoes, green beans and little meatballs. It was de-li-cious.
