The Glenelg visit

The day was like this all day today, quite pleasant.

The Northpark parking lot. Bloody busy.

In the afternoon we went to Glenelg, First time after our arrival. It was getting a bit scummy during our last visit but it's quite nice again now.

This is the old Glenelg tram that drives between the beach and the city.

This is the new ugly tram that drives around as well. They don't know much about tram-planning here. They should've talked with the GVB...

Some guy on a terrace there had this lizardlike whatever it's called with him. It's his pet. A beautiful animal but my shit camera doesn't do it justice. Nicole has a much better picture on her blog.

"JENJEN"

After we came home karin and gav came by to pick up Mason again. At some point everybody was talking on the veranda.

The clouds

Clouds over Adelaide again today. It was 18C when I woke up this morning. It felt colder than ever.

I discovered a 4th model train shop in Adelaide yesterday so guess where we were going today?

On our way there I enjoyed the scenery a bit. There are a lot of beautiful old buildings in Adelaide.

And a lot of nice views, like this one, of the city.

And then we were there. It is the smallest shop I know here but I was impressed. Not that he had a lot of stuff in stock, but he can actually order european stuff and knows what he's talking about.

And then we drove home again.

A lot more things happened today but I forgot to take pictures, sorry ;-P

The Cocoa

In the morning we visited Karin at her work.

Went into town as well. There are some nice looking buildings behind ugly modern shit.

Like this one...

And this one (could be 1 building though whatever).

Border Bookstore finally had the book I was looking for again. It's a book about programming software for Mac OS X. Apple has made it's engineering software available and now I'm going to play with it, har har har!

The cold

It was cold this morning: 20C and cloudy.

Dutch skies all around.

Even the birds were depressed.

My bonsai probably thinks it's a nice change from all that warmth.

But when the evening came, so did the sun.

Now that the clouds are gone and there's no sunlight anymore it can only get colder...

The bakery run

We walked to the bakery around the corner to get some fresh bread. Yummy. On our way we saw these mushrooms.

The mushrooms are in this church's garden.

It's the second oldest church in South Australia.

It's very small and I think there's only 1 service a week.

Opposite is one of the many car yards of Main North Road.` They are all cheaper than the others. All of them. Someone has to explain to me how that works one day...

This is the bakery. It's a very nice little bakery with nice products. I'm a fan of their apfel strudel.

In the afternoon I worked on the drawers for our Ikea cupboard again.

I finished the outside. Now I have to make the drawers. I am very pleased with todays results. They have a nice tight fit.

The desk/workbench

I basically did 2 things today. I worked on my drawers project and...

... I played World of Warcraft.

Since both our stuff and the internet connection arrived I am finally fully enjoying my free time. Work can wait a little longer ;-P

The daredevil seagul

The apples in our garden are growing hard by now.

We went for a drive to the beach. Well, to the Largs pier Kiosk to be precise, to get some fish and chips. On our way we passed this train.

This is inside the kiosk while waiting for our fishies to turn up.

I keep underestimating the servings in this country so we had half our fries to give away to the seaguls.

I'm teaching them to eat from my hand.

Out of about 40 seaguls that were present only 2 or 3 dared to pick a chip from my hand. It was great fun!

On our way home we stopped by cafe Bravo in town for desert.

There's a cute little oak tree around the corner there.
