The remains of a party next door last night that kept me awake till 5AM. There were about 30-40 drunk 16-25 year olds misbehaving from 11PM till about 4:30AM. I caught one pissing in my doorway but fortunately I could not get my hands on him. I had a little chat with the father of the organizer in the morning who was apologetic and apart from cleaning this mess also cleaned my doorway from piss. He also said that the next party will have to be elsewhere as they also need to have their newly painted stairwell painted again...
To clear out the disgusting smell of cigarette smoke from last night's horde I opened my window and a curious little cat person came to say hello. It was a nice encounter.
Around noon I took the train to Haarlem to see Marjolein.
We visited an old classmate of mine who is now a gold smith. It was nice to see him again. He used to come in my regular pub as well but stopped doing so since he doesn't work here anymore. He's going to fix my gold ring that broke a few weeks ago.
He can make really nice things. This is an example of an engraving he made.
Then we took the bus to the dunes.
The weather was awesome!
First walk in the dunes for me in about ehm... 15 years?
Marjolein and I.
Dunes.
We reached the beach which looked beautiful.
After a few cups of tea and apple pie the sun had started setting and we went home.

The dust
I thought my earphones were broken but the culprit was dust in my phone...
I missed my ferry by about 10 seconds. I had a nice sit at the water though.
I played a game on my phone on the way home and reached a new level.

New leaves.
The Annelies Ilena is next door.
My fake bonsai is making more leaves. It loves me :-)
The nuts and bolts and screws collection of my colleague Sylvester. It's getting a bit out of control...
On the ferry back home.

The worm.
I saw very pretty duckies this morning.
On the ferry across the water.
I peeped inside the burned down building.
Someone is looking for a girl called "Ina".
A chocolate egg got me a worm.

The nut
Early morning. It was a bit foggy.
Cranes.
In the afternoon I went to my shrink. I like these buildings a lot.
Cartoon by Kamagurka at the shrink. Only funny in Dutch...
I played squash with Mic in the evening. Obviously he was looking forward to it...

The breakfast
Breakfast! There's this place at the river just across the bridge that makes a real nice breakfast for less than half of the price the hotel asks for a buffet breakfast.
We walked to some old fortress. Not overly special. And not what we expected...
The restaurant we ate last night. Delicious food.
More history in town.
The "Hell gate". The last remaining old city wall gate.
Marjolein on top of the old city wall.
She likes photographing nice doors.
Since we enjoyed the Thai from Friday night so much, we decided to stay a little longer and go there again. We were both knackered but it was worth it :-)
Walking out of town towards our hotel to pick up our bags.
View towards the hotel.
And back on the train home. We had a great weekend :-)
