Leaving Australia

This was actually the night before but I took it after doing my blog. I had never seen Mason jump on anybody before. It was just so funny. All he wanted was to give Nicole kissies (= lickies)

During the morning I took some last photos of the animals we have lived with while here. The pigeons of course. Noisy little bastards.

Sir Cocky-boy. I think he laughs like me. I love him very much. It is the only bird that i have ever seen that actually walks over to be patted.

I needed breakfast so I walked to the bakery. This is the video shop next door.

This is the St. Clements church. I do kind of regret that I lived there for two years but have never seen the inside. It's a beautiful little church.

When I came to the bakery - it was about 8AM - it was still closed. Typical.

I played with mason one last time. He has always been a very good boy around me.

Mason in his natural habitat.

We had lunch with Tony and Vicky.

This is where Nicole and I lived for nearly two years.

And then it was time to go to the airport. Driving down Prospect Road.

Checking in.

Our flight. Unfortunately the left one was for us...

One last ACE gelatti. I swear, I will make this myself one day.

Nicole's ex-colleague Heath and his daughter Ella came to say good bye to us at the airport.

Ready for departure.

To you, the reader, this may just seem the next photo, which is the luggage belt in Kuala Lumpur. But there was 8 hours if boredom, sore ass, whining and crying babies, annoying adults and some turbulance in between. Apart from that the flight was uneventful. Geetting out of the airport was an absolute breeze. So fast.

We hired a limo to drive us to the hotel. A limo here is an old Mercedes but it's a lot better than getting transported in a mini-van with 6 other people. Of course your hotel is always last on the list.

I liked how the taxi driver managed to stay in the middle lane very well, on the two lane roads...

My last day in Australia.

Dear blog reader,

This is a special entry because it is my last full day in this beautiful land that is Australia. It is with sadness that I leave this country behind but I am very excited about seeing my family and friends again soon.

Tomorrow Nicole and I fly to Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia where we will stay for three days. Arrival in The Netherlands is scheduled for Tuesday morning 6:30.

V.

There were NO clouds this morning. Beautiful sky.

Not that Mason cared much.

I went to Tandanya this morning to learn more about the indigenous people of Australia. But instead of a museum, it was more an art exhibition. It was still very intersting. Especially the session at noon was very nice. There was an Aboriginal man playing the didgeridoo. That was my highlight of the day.

After the session I walked through the park to the pub where I met Nicole and some ex-colleagues of her. In the park I was attacked bu this beast! It cam running for me, hissing. But when I stopped walking, it also stopped one metre away from me. The funniest thing was that when I walked away from it, it actually came right for me! It was so funny. It pecked me on my ankle once, which was nothing more than just a tickle. And then it jumped back again. Probably to see me squirm in pain and agony from it's vicious attack! Well, too bad, because I nearly pissed myself laughing instead. Cute. I love animals so much :-)

The taps were frozen at the pub. You see that everywhere here.

My Coopers dark ale. Hmmmmmmm.

Late afternoon we went to Henley beach.

We wanted to have our last meal together, just the two of us, at our favourite restaurant.

Which is, the Thai Orchid.

Blog the blogger.

Because our internet connection is screwed in the phone exchange we went to Evida after dinner to have coffee AND internet.

That's kinda how I feel right now.

Packing.

This is Stephen, my tennis partner, and his son lachlan. He dropped in this morning to buy our TV. I hope it will last him many, many years.

I have started packing my suitcase now. It's starting to get a little bit exciting now. I'lll be so happy to be moving forwards again.

I dropped off a box at the post office and after that we went shopping. Here I was waiting for Nicole in the "clothes" section. You couldn't tell...

iPhone.

A parcel arrived for me today.

It was my iPhone 3GS 16GB (Black). Unfortunately I have been so busy with lots of other things today that I have had no time to turn it on yet.

Mason was "resting"...

The pigeons were resting too.

It was a beauttiful day.

This sign is just... creepy.

We saw this Audi in town. Stunning car.

We parked at level 5.

I have never seen this room open for business at Scoozi's.

Gutted building.

My mom and dad skyped me to wish me a good trip this Saturday, when I return to The Netherlands.

Charminar

Driving Nic to work in the morning. It was her last day today. Bless.

I drove home past Scotty's.

Took the car trough the car wash.

Bye bye little red car. You served us very well and you drove us lots of places without any troubles. It was picked up by the new owner today.

In the evening we went to Charminar for dinner.

They have a wonderful menu.

We had chicken korma, saag paneer and rogan josh, amongst other things of course ;-)
