House stuff

Early morning I went to my house. I had a few appointments with workmen. One came to inspect for asbestos (there is none...) and two came to take samples of the earth underneath my house.

To get to the dirt underneath my house, you first need to get through the concrete floor. One of the 2 men specialised in drilling such holes, it's basically his life. I asked him "is all you do in your work drilling holes?". He said "yes" with a big smile. OK...

So he left me with two of these beauties. One in the kitchen and one in the hallway. As a result I now have no hot water anymore because the boiler also heats the floor but since we let the water out the boiler sensed to little pressure and went into malfunctioning mode and I couldn't fix it. So I turned the whole thing off.

The holes are about 40 cm deep. That's how thick the layer of concrete is! I was expecting 20 at the most...

After the other guy took samples  he filled the holes up again...

And made them look "nice". Yeah...

Then I thought I'd disassemble my bed to make it ready for selling. So I pull the mattress  out and notice discoloration. When I looked at the back it was even worse. Damp from the wet wall has damaged my bed making it worthless. It's gonna go now...

I did manage to take apart the white IKEA cupboard which is going into storage.

My house is getting emptier and emptier.

I'm gonna miss this view. It's one of the things I loved so much about this place.
