The beach

The top of the plant that I cut up in pieces (in an attempt to create a good looking plant again) is rooting! I'm mighty excited about this and very happy it's not dying.

The trunk it was once on is still standing and not drying out which is a good sign I s'pose.

The little 10 cm middle bit I also cut out seems to be having a harder time. Half is dried out and the other half that's submerged in water isn't rooting (yet)...

I went to the beach with Marjolein and took my big camera with me. In a park close to her house flowers have sprung.

At the beach lots of razor shells had washed up. Sea birds were having a good time finding snacks in them. The ball was put in this photo by a happy dog.

Marjolein has wanted to be able to take good and close pictures of these little birds for a while and today there were loads. They are sanderlings. They run after the rolling waves looking for food.

They run around the beach all the time. They're also quite fast flyers. If you want to be really stunned, look at their journeys from Greenland to Africa and back. This website is in Dutch but you can do without reading:

The weather was great most of the day. It was fantastic to see so much blue sky again.

I photographed a few objects I found on the beach, like this little bottle.

A Heineken can.
