I remember at my old work, when I was about 20, seeing this tiny old lady at the kitchens filling a ginormous plastic bottle which she had to invert splashingly to fit over the early 1990s water cooler we had there (very swish at the time!!)...
... I remember thinking "what a stupid idea, making a poor old lady have to fit all that water the wrong way round. Why don't they just put a pipe in or something?"
I didn't realize of course that it's DELIBERATELY designed that way so you add fresh springwater cartridges and don't repeatedly re-fill with tap!!

Is that cardgame some sort of post-apocalyptic sWaterworld-type scenario..?
We used to play Top Trumps when I was little. Horror cards were a distinct favourite!!
@ Gled: It's a trading card game called Magic: The gathering. It can be fun but also costly as you have to buy the cards...
Talking of mysterious Germanic dialects: do you hear much Frisian spoken in Amsterdam? Or Low Saxon...?
