The old laptop

For lunch I went to Cafe Fresh to get a Vili's pie and some chips. Just because I felt like it.

When I came home I was greeted by Mason who was behaving reasonably well.

Right now I'm installing Visual Studio 2005 on my poor, 7 year old laptop. It's NOT going very fast and judging by the noise of the fan it's getting quite hot...

Hi Vince, maybe this helps a little:
When my laptop was getting too hot I cleaned it, not the hard-disk (although a clean install also does wonders sometimes) but the inside of the laptop.

Buy a can of compressed air, unscrew some of the bits than can be unscrewed (the piece that covers location of the memory, and/or processor).

Blow air in as many holes as possible (don't forget the ventilator).

It did wonders for my laptop, but then cat hairs are everywhere in my place.

@ G: That would be an interesting exercise. I haven't opened it before actually... I'm not gonna try it now, it's usually pretty good. It had a reason to be hot when I wrote that. Now it's going through a few thousand updates...
