The giant purse

Snapping a few pictures from the window with almost maximum zoom. This is one of the old Melbourne trams.

This is a... yes! It's a church.

At a quarter to eleven Marissa came up to start our day on the town.

While we walked in to town we saw this office that has it's administration stuck on the window in the form of post-it notes. I guess they're trying to save hard-drive space...

Nicole found a big purse. I absolutely love sculptures like this. I wish we saw more of this stuff.

The avarage look of a street in the city.

And then all of the sudden it was there: Lord of the fries. The ONLY place outside The NL and Belgium I have ever seen that sells fries with peanut sauce. It wasn't quite like the real thing but it was good nevertheless.

Then it was time for todays main outing: The Melbourne aquarium. It was VERY hard photographing the fish because they don't really understand to swim still for a photo...

Crayfish?

A goofy looking shark.

There are a lot of high rises in Melbourne. Quite nice ones too.

While walking back to our hotel we saw this grafitti.

Yeah, Melbourne is a busy little town...

This is our make-shift blogging facility. We have a great kitchen but no desk. Oh well, it works fine.

Melbourne

We left our motel early morning after a crappy night sleep. That has nothing to do with the motel by the way. It was actually a very nice and clean place.

We had breakfast in Horsham. We saw bakeries that didn't sell bread. Pisses me off when I'm looking for a bakery. In the end we found one of mediocre quality.

Further up the road we landed at the Giant Koala. We had a wee break and a coffee.

The next stop was at a road house. Should've called it a shit house. Never mind that.

Mr. Ed lives there. Actually it was a she. She was very cute.

In the afternoon we arrived at Marissa's house. After some chit-chat we went to her parent's place to meet... the parents and her brother Carlo. It was nice meeting them again.

After the visit we went to a pizza place Marissa learned of recently. It was excellent.

Then it was time to go to the hotel. It's a nice place with an amazing view. I hope it's quiet. I'm a bit scared. At least we have a King size bed. It feels nice :-)

The drive to Dimboola

We drove off to Melbourne today. We're doing this in two stages, stopping half way. Close to our stop-over there is a salt lake called "The pink lake".

Here Nicole is showing us the Pink lake.

I believe they used to dig up salt here, leaving a big lake. Dried salt is white but 'fresh' salt is actually pink.

After this we continued our drive.

Passing lots and lots of Canola fields.

Then we arrived in Dimboola. There is a train statue.

And an old bank building that the current owner (who found out it's too hard to start a fancy restaurant in Dimboola) was trying to sell us.

The streets were very quiet.

The bowls

I needed some test photos so why not photograph my bowls? And if you have the photos anyway, then why not put them on your blog? I looked for images of these bowls online before but I haven't been able to find them. Maybe people will find them on my blog now.
The first photo was taken with a flash which makes the bowls look much darker. The other photo's show the exact colour.

Bowls info:
- Manufacturer: Taylor (Scotland)
- Type: Vector VS (medium curve)
- Size: 4
- Colour: Orange
- Emblem: Shark

All four in the bag.

Here you can see why they roll in a curve. One side is flatter than the other.

Mall people

On my way to lunch a car stopped right next to me with these dogs in the back. They were following the owner so there was no way they'd look at the camera...

Victoria square was my lunch destination again. I sat there until the rain got too much.

Too much rain.

After work I met Nicole in Rundle mall. While she went into a BAG shop I sat outside snapping away. This girl was wearing beautiful red and black striped stockings.

More photo's of passer's by:

And then Nicole came out so we could continue our evening.

We walked past the fountain. Someone had put washing powder in it. It makes it look like a giant light source.

It's really soap!

Remember the accident last Christmas? Today finally the mess got cleaned up. Well, they made a start. And they also put red and white tape around it coz now it's dangerous. The funny thing is that the guy living there was in there till recently. But now it's dangerous. Hmmm. They put the tape up the wrong way around too.

Now we have to pack for tomorrow's trip. Can't wait. But first: sleep. I'm knackered.

Lunch at Tarndanyangga

Another day, another false (fire) alarm.

During lunch I walked to Victoria square. It also has an Aboriginal name.

There is a nice fountain.

And the Australian flag as well as the Aboriginal flag are raised there. I quite like the Aboriginal flag. The black stands for the Aboriginal people, the red is the earth (lots of red sand in this country) and the yellow is the sun. Simple, yet powerful meanings. I like it even more now.

Trees are blooming big time at the moment. These flowers are called bottle-brushes I believe.

And then I had to get back to work. I quickly took this picture for an overview of the park.
