(away from) civilization

Today we went to a place, well, more like a hole, called St. Kilda. It's about 30 minutes driving from our house. St. Kilda is at the beach and it's famous (ahem) for it's playground. Fun!

There isn't really a beach. The water is there only when the tide is in. All other times there is stinking mud. Fun!

They build a 3 story pirate ship that looks like it's crashed on St, Kilda's wild and rocky beach. Fun!

After walking around the place we wanted to have a drink at St. Kilda's hotel. This is what it looked like today. It was under construction but still open. Looking inside there was 1 dark corner in use where workmen were having lunch. The rest of the place looked dusty, dark and abandoned. Fun!

Needless to say, we felt a great urge arising to get the F. out of there. But not before making a photo impression of St. Kilda, "the living city", as we read on a sign on our way out.

Facing North. Fun!

Facing East. Fun!

Facing South-East (escape route). It looks like we were not the first people rushing away from here. Fun!

Facing South-West. I'll be damned, there were 3 houses made of brick!!! Fun!

Facing North-West we discovered the community hall. It was for rent. Fun!

We rushed back to civilization and found it at the Daniel O'Connell. Fun at last.

Wat een leuk shit heb je gekocht van die voucher.
PS Wat is het daar plat, lijkt wel Nederland. Heb je al gefietst met je chopperbike?

Groetjes

@ Kees: Glad you liked it ;-P

@ Ilse: Nee, ik rijd nog "normaal". Maar goed, door m'n knie heb ik al een week niet gereden ondertussen :-(

@ Aaf: Ja he?

Not everybody's cup of tea I agree but compared to restaurants and cafes I quite enjoyed seeing St Kilda. See you tonight, Karin.
