Extra: Unfortunate graphics

I was running some speed tests on our ADSL line tonight. You can choose your server and I choose Perth. The result is a little man who seems to be peeing on Perth... Worth a laugh I think. I should've chosen Melbourne *grin*

Anyway, the speed appeared to be around 6.5 Mb/sec. Sounds alright but I have no idea how that compared to the rest of the world really.

I have 36 mbps right now and I love it. They recently hooked me up to free 'glasvezelkabel' here but I'm not going to use it since I cannot keep zonnet as my provider then.

@ Jo: Holy crap, that's really fast. I wonder how fast the optic fibre will be then. Wow. In this country, people can only dream of speeds like that...

The NL is the eighth fastest country in the world when it comes to broadband.

From 020 to Adelaide I get ~4.9 Mb/s.
Staying closer to home is faster: ~8.5 Mb/s on an ADSL that is nominally 10 Mb/s.

@ Kees: Thanks for that. Our connection can use five profiles; most reliable - fastest. We changed our connection from most reliable (which is default) to the profile in the middle (standard). I think this almost doubled our speed from what I remember. To bad I don't have my WoW account anymore to check. On the weekend I'll set it to most reliable again to check I think.

Optic fiber, that's the word I was looking for :)
I just had to recheck to make sure if I was right about my speed and now it's 48 mbps (wi-fi is not stable all the time here).
